Surprising Lavon: One of Our Super Car Kids at Buckner Elementary

At Super Car Guys, our Super Car Kids program is all about celebrating local students who are putting in the effort, showing growth, and making their classrooms better places to learn. We’re proud to partner with Love Schools and the Wichita Public Schools Foundation to recognize outstanding students across Wichita.

Surprising Lavon

In December, we had the joy of surprising Lavon, a deserving student from Buckner Performing Arts Magnet Elementary School, as one of our Super Car Kids! Lavon was selected by his teachers for his outstanding growth – both academically and personally – and for bringing a positive, determined attitude into the classroom each day. When we arrived for the surprise celebration, the excitement in the room was contagious. Even more special? We had the opportunity to meet Lavon’s mom! And she joined in on the celebration with his classmates. Seeing her there, sharing in that proud moment, made the day even more meaningful.

We’ve noticed more and more parents attending these surprise celebrations, and it’s something we absolutely love. It shows how much this small act of recognition impacts not just the students, but their families as well. These moments create pride, encouragement, and memories that go beyond the classroom.

Pizza Party

To celebrate his hard work, we treated Lavon’s entire class to a pizza party. 🍕 The smiles, laughs, and excitement made it clear this was a moment they won’t forget. Moments like these remind us why the Super Car Kids program exists. To bring encouragement, recognition, and joy to students who are making their schools and communities better places.
